Tony Vallencourt...

is the name of Adam Sandler's character in the fantastic Saturday Night Live skit "What's the best way?", which was a game show in which New Englanders competing in giving directions. It might have been the least funny skit ever for someone from the West Coast, but as a New Englander, it is my all-time favorite SNL skit, hands down.

Anyway, that's going to be my new online pseudonym.

Tony Vallencourt also appeared in two other SNL sketches -- "The Vallencourt Boys" and "A Message From Tony Vallencourt."

A transcript of the "What's the Best Way" sketch is available here:

Question for you guys --

I saw this skit in passing sometime in the 1994 time frame, which must have been "The Vallencourt Boys" episode Bryce notes above. This skit was hilarious -- Sandler and either Hartman or Nealon play brothers who are both at home, on Workers Comp, doing a call-in show on public access in which callers -- also on Workers Comp -- relay what they're at home drinking.

For whatever reason, this episode has disappeared. It's not on any re-runs or DVDs, and I sadly cannot recall who was the star/music guest to try and track it down.

Do you know any more about this, or how I could obtain either the transcript or a video file of this skit?

Thanks.

I've been trying to find that episode too. Sandler and Kevin Nealon are the two you're speaking of. I have some of it on tape back at my parents house. October 30, 1993; host is Christian Slater, music is Smashing Pumpkins. "Wasted yet pal?" "Gittin there pal" I started off with a gallon of black label, moved on to 9 shots of bacardi, and chased it down with a half a quart of peppermint schnaaps.

You're gonna like that buzz! That was my all-time favorite SNL skit.

One quote was something like "I started off with a six pack of Bud, chased it with some Jaega' and followed up strong with some Jimmy Beam".

The whole part about trying to prank the fat guy with Sgt Mike's Chicken truck was priceless. Remember, it's hard to prank a fat guy.

I would pay serious money to see that again.

Twelve years after this last comment, I'm searching like mad for the Vallencourt Boys SNL episode, and it almost seems like it doesn't exist. There is very little about that episode, and it was filled with priceless one-liners which filled my conversations for years.
